Dunlea Centre – Australia’s Original Boys’ Town is a Family Engagement Agency and Special Behavioural School situated in the south of Sydney.

A newly created managerial role has been established to transition and oversee the Family Engagement Team.

This is a leadership team position reporting to the Executive Director.

If you have professional qualifications in Psychology combined with successful managerial experience, and would like to work in a rewarding organisation embracing best practice, this could be your opportunity.

The position involves leading a small team of Family Engagement Workers (currently called Family Services Workers), who work closely with young people and their families or carers.  

From late 2018 onwards, a new behavioural approach will be introduced to the Agency, based heavily upon the BoysTown Omaha Teaching Family Model (TFM).

This model will be progressively introduced into the daily operations and all agency staff will be required to complete mandatory training in this methodology.

Dunlea Centre is looking for a high calibre individual for this role so a competitive salary package will be negotiated including access to generous not for profit tax concessions up to $15,899 tax free and an additional non-accruing 10 days paid leave per year for various extra hours of duty commitments.

Employment conditions are in accordance with the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010 (SCHADS).

Essential Criteria

  • Professional qualifications in Psychology, (Masters level - clinical) or equivalent ; a generalist psychologist with extensive experience in behaviour intervention will also be highly considered;
  • Current registration with AHPRA;
  • Experience in dealing with young people with challenging behaviours;
  • A Current Working with Children Check Number;

Desirable Criteria

  • First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain.
  • Therapeutic Crisis Intervention training or equivalent, or willingness to obtain.
  • Demonstrated skills in Microsoft Office including excel, word and outlook.
  • Accredited and approved supervisor with AHPRA;
  • Tertiary studies or experience in management.
