Job Description
 
The Community Care division are recruiting for dedicated, experienced and enthusiastic Youth Support Workers to support people in various settings.
   
The role is based in Cairns and is a casual position with the possible opportunity to continue on an ongoing basis. The shifts may cover days, evenings, sleepovers and weekends. Suitable candidates may be offered work in surrounding areas. 

In the role you will be required to assist  youth clients who can display high levels of challenging behaviours, have restricted practices and working with Child Safety. You will adhere to their Behaviour Support Plan, following all procedures implemented to manage behaviours of concern.  
 
Your duties will be to provide clients with high quality support that addresses the clients needs and enhances independence, abilities, community participation and quality of life. You may be required to transport the client in your own vehicle.
 
About You
 
• Have 12 months plus PAID experience working with young people who can present with challenging behaviours and a variety of needs
• Have the ability to engage with all different personalities with youth and adults to provide support and encouragement
• Be able to manage high challenging behaviour situations as they arise
• Have outstanding interpersonal, communication and resilience  skills
• Willing to commit to a variety of different shifts
• Additional experience with adults and children with disabilities would be highly regarded

To be considered for the role you must the following:
  
• Cert III and higher in Youth/Community Services
• QLD Drivers licence and own reliable transport
• Current Comprehensive Car Insurance
• Current First aid certificate (dated within the last 3 years)
• Current CPR Certificate (dated within the last 12 months)
• Current Blue and Yellow cards (dated within the last 3 years)
• 2 Relevant References Checks within the Youth Sector

Formal behaviour management training such as TCI, NVCI, Maybo will be an advantage

Have a smartphone (ie. iPhone, Android) to accept shifts and manage your timesheets on our eHCA App
