The Role…

Based at Nudgee, you’ll be responsible for the delivery of care and services to residents as per individual resident care plans and in accordance with the resident preferences. Support will consider the resident’s physical, spiritual, social, psychological and cultural needs and enable residents to maintain their own well-being and independence for as long as possible. In a nutshell you'll:

  • Provide care and support to residents as documented in the individual resident care plan.
  • Follow directions and instructions from the RN/EN at all times.
  • Maintain resident privacy, respect and dignity at all times.
  • Communicate with residents effectively so that they are informed.
  • Assist residents with care requirements and personal supports in accordance with their assessed needs and preferences, and as instructed by the RN/EN.
  • Monitor the resident’s condition and immediately report any changes to the RN/EN.
  • Develop required reports and documentation in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of a person-centred care plan for the resident.

About You…

  • Previous experience in a similar position.
  • Certificate III in Aged Care.
  • Experience of working alongside clients/residents with cognitive and/or physical limitations.
  • Knowledge of standards in aged care.
  • Have a working knowledge of ACFI.
  • Able to interpret schedules and written instructions, and/or know how to find the information required.
  • Demonstrated intermediate ability to use computer IT systems including MS Word and Excel.
  • Queensland Provisional Green or above Driver’s License.
  • Ability to obtain positive notice in the Working with Children Check (Blue Card) and any other legislatively required personal history screening as required.
  • For applicable programs, evidence of current vaccination against whooping cough or willingness to obtain prior to commencement, unless applicable exemption provided as per the relevant MC procedure.
