About the Role

An exciting opportunity exists for a highly experienced career minded individual who can bring strong leadership and direction to a dedicated and driven team of professionals. Working within a Quality Framework and in line with DHHS Standards and ONCALL policies and procedures, the Out of Home Care Manager will deliver exceptional quality service by coordinating care and providing support to children, young people and their families through the provision of emergency, transitional, residential and in-home support. 

Reporting to the Executive Manager Accommodation and Client Services, your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Developing and executing a strategic and operational plan for ONCALL’s OoHC services;
  • Planning, implementing and overseeing all aspects of provision and delivery of OoHC services in metropolitan Melbourne;
  • Providing leadership and management to the OoHC Team inc supervision and professional development/training;
  • Liaising with DHHS, Placement Coordination Unit, community organisations and other key stakeholders as required;
  • Ensuring OOHC service delivery meets clients’ needs, rigorous legislative and regulatory guidelines and ONCALL’s quality framework;
  • Promoting ONCALL to secure new business opportunities for OOHC;
  • Working to achieve measurable and significant improvements.

 

To be successful in this role, you will ideally demonstrate:

  • Tertiary qualification in Community Services, Youth Work or equivalent; 
  • Post Grad qualification in business or management highly regarded;
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge in Out of Home Care, Family Services and Statutory Child environments; 
  • Established and proven leadership skills along with a mentoring and staff development mindset;
  • Solid understanding of child protection, youth justice system and relevant legislation;
  • Experience in adhering to Quality Framework and an ability to ensure all services meet required standards;
  • A passion for delivering excellent client centred service, 
  • Ability to liaise effectively with DHHS, clients, families and other key stakeholders; 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; 
  • Experience managing Carer Checks and leading and contributing to client reviews and investigations.
