We are seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Children's Contact Service (CCS) Program Support Worker for our CCS team based in Berkeley Vale. This role requires you to have well developed practice skills, as well as flexibility, initiative, coordination and organisation skills. About the role

The CCS Program Support Worker will work closely with the Team Leader to provide direct service delivery and ensure the effective operation and planning of the program. Duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Assisting Team Leader in planning and operation of the service;
  • Providing support and supervision assistance to casual support workers as required;
  • Facilitate child focused supervision of visits (contact) between children and young people and their parent/carer;
  • Facilitate the safe and conflict free transfer of children and young people and their parent or carer;
  • Provide administrative support.

About the successful candidate

This is a part time position working 3 days per week. The successful candidate should be available to work on Friday (10.30 am to 6.30 pm), Saturday (9.00 am to 5.00 pm).

We are flexible with the third day of work - Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday 9.00 am to 5.00 pm

Essential:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in social science, psychology, or a similar field;
  • Previous experience working with families and children;
  • Demonstrated understanding of the impact of family separation, domestic violence, and conflict on children and young people;
  • Previous experience working with people with complex needs, including mental health and substance abuse issues;
  • Knowledge/understanding of the developmental needs of children and young people;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both verbal and written;
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in conflict management;
  • Efficient computer technology skills including data bases and Microsoft office programs;

Desirable:

  • Knowledge and understanding of working with Indigenous people and people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds;
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Family Law Act and the Family Law Court.
