The Organisation
abrs' client supports individuals and families in the Dept. of Defence, nationally from Canberra. The position is working on a telephone helpline where you will provide 24/7 support for defence personnel and their families who are requiring assistance for a range of issues.
 
The Role  
The role has a high degree of complexity and issues which need assistance. You will;  

• provide counselling and referral assistance to callers who will require your crisis intervention and risk assessment skills.
• create detailed reports requiring high attention to detail.
• have extremely varied shifts and you will be given the opportunity to undertake various projects during this contract.

The Candidate
In order to be considered for this role you will;

• be degree qualified in Social Work, Psychology or Counselling.
• have demonstrated crisis intervention and risk assessment skills,
• possess excellent communication skills (written and oral) and demonstrated report writing skills.
• be available for full time hours over 7 days on a long term contract
• be an Australia Citizen

 
Additional info
The team is made up of 12 professionals who come from a range of backgrounds. You must be able to fit into a very supportive and friendly team. The full time hours (average 5 shifts a week) are over 7 days, mornings 7am - 3pm and evenings 2pm - 10pm with a restricted duties phone taken home overnight up to 6 to 7 nights per month, on roster.  You will receive a high level of guidance from a very experienced management team and your skills will be developed in this role.
