ABOUT THE ORGANISATION

Impact, an accredited agency created in 2002, provides therapeutic residential supports to young people in out of home care with high and complex needs often stemming from a history of abuse and neglect.

Impact is a registered NDIS provider and provides a range of disability support services to clients by actively working to the goals outlined in their NDIS plan. This includes supported independent living, capacity building and core supports. 

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Therapeutic Care workers will develop meaningful relationships with children, young people and adults and use the strength of these relationships to support them in working towards their goals,  while also empowering them to participate in decisions relating to their own life. 

TO BE A SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT at Impactyou will have

  • Tertiary qualification (Min Cert IV) in Community Services, Disabability or relevant field
  • Experience working in the welfare/community service sector with young people, preferably in residential care services or people with a disability coupled with complex behaviours
  • Strong communication and organisation skills
  • The ability to work autonomously, as part of a team and to follow instructions
  • Be able to manage challenging situations as they arise
  • Willing to commit to a variety of different shifts, including overnight, weekends and public holidays
  • Willingness to travel to different locations as required
  • A First Aid Certificate (or undertaking to get one as soon as possible) and
  • A current Driver's Licence
  • Most importantly, an unwavering dedication to providing outstanding support to children, young people and adults who may be at the most emotionally challenging point of their lives.

    AWARD CLASSIFICATION:

    Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award. Because we recognise people's skills and professionalism, and because we want the best, Impact pays above the Award. The right person will earn (casual rate) up to $38 per hour plus applicable shift loading.

    Successful applicants - including casuals - will be entitled to salary packaging benefits up to the value of $8000 per year.
