Our Customer is a not-for-profit organisation that delivers a range of services to the people of Logan and surrounds. They cater to people who are disadvantaged, vulnerable or want to improve their circumstance.
The Role
Our Customer is seeking an experienced and dynamic family worker/coach to assist families in public housing in Logan. The role is Permanent/Part Time (24hrs per week).The team of family workers/coaches engage parents and caregivers to help families thrive. The purpose of the project is to improve children’s health and wellbeing by supporting families to achieve stable housing, positive parenting and social connections.
The Successful Candidate
The successful Candidate will have:
- Knowledge, skills and experience in working with families with children aged 0-8 years.
- Extensive knowledge of childhood development and the ability to confidently address family and household concerns.
- Knowledge of the issues impacting parents' caring capacities and ability to maintain stable housing tenure.
- An appropriate framework for assessment and intervention in relation to family violence and child protection.
- Proven experience and professional ability to problem solve and resolve conflict.
- Ability to build rapport quickly with clients and families from diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.
Requirements of the Role
- Possession of relevant tertiary qualifications and/or extensive experience in a like role.
- Current Queensland C Class driver’s license.
- Current First Aid Certificate or ability to obtain.
- Current Positive Notice Blue Card and Disability Services Positive Notice Card or ability to obtain
