About the company

The Assessment and Referral Court (ARC) List program is a therapeutic, court-based program developed to meet the needs of accused persons who have a mental illness and/or cognitive impairment. The program was first established at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court where it has been shown to achieve positive outcomes for program participants. With such demonstrated success, the ARC List program will be expanded to the Gippsland region from July 2018. The Court aims to be an innovative, accessible and responsive court that provides quality services to the Victorian community.

 

About the role

This role is responsible for the leadership and management of the Court Integrated Services Program (CISP) and Assessment and Referral Court (ARC) programs across the Gippsland region. It provides overall leadership to a multi-disciplinary team consisting of a team leader, advanced case managers, case managers and administrative staff, as well as having responsibility for implementing practice improvement and quality assurance processes across the programs. Regular travel to Courts across the Gippsland region is required. Duties

  • Coordinate the recruitment, induction and ongoing professional development of program staff
  • Coordinate the development and maintenance of relationships with key external stakeholders
  • Provide coaching, mentoring and supervision to program staff
  • Establish a cohesive and supportive leadership approach across the programs
  • Coordinate the development and implementation of practice improvements
  • Ensure that clinical practice within the programs is informed by evidenced-informed practice models and frameworks
  • Develop and implement strategies that address potential service and resource gaps
  • Ensure the programs are delivered in a way that is responsive to, and inclusive of, the diverse needs and backgrounds of all clients
  • Establish effective working relationships with the judiciary, legal profession and court staff
  • Proactively contribute to program-wide service development and improvement initiatives
  • Participate in groups and processes related to the governance of the ARC and CISP programs


Skills & Experience

  • A tertiary qualification in social work, psychology, welfare or another relevant field is required
  • Extensive experience in the leadership and management of health and/or social welfare staff
  • Significant experience in the operational management of health, forensic and/or social care programs
  • Demonstrated capacity to establish and maintain effective stakeholder relationships
  • Significant experience in the development and implementation of continuous improvement processes for client-based programs
  • Sound knowledge of evidenced-informed practice models and frameworks for working with vulnerable and complex client groups
