I am a professional female with MS who needs care to remain living independently. I need female care workers available to do overnight shifts (4 PM to 8 AM) on Monday and Wednesday nights. Assistance is required to do minor meal prep, transfers (hoist), getting to and from bed and other simple tasks. This is a casual position with attractive rates plus Super.
The ideal candidates will be punctual, reliable, and able to work under my direction. They will have excellent communication skills and a compassionate nature. They will be able to keep themselves occupied for the times when no assistance is required. There is a lot of down time so candidates with external studies or interests are very welcome to apply. I am not at all good with close supervision, I need my space. The ideal candidates will be easy companions who understand I am trying to live my life the best I know how. Please understand I am not elderly, do not reside in a nursing home and do not require a qualified nurse. Note that I am more interested in how you will fit in my household than in looking at CVs.
The position is based in my home in Oyster Bay. Care worker will be provided with a bedroom, TV and DVD player, and have access to facilities in the remainder of the house.
