About the role

The Strategic Growth Manager will lead the growth and development team in supporting the strategic direction of Scouts Victoria in the establishment of new groups, as agreed by the Executive Manager in conjunction with the State Leadership Team.  The role will be measured by membership growth in line with the 4 year work plan, executed through proactively building partnerships with senior representative in non-government organisations and local government.

Key functions of the role will include:

  • Effectively lead and manager the Growth and Community Development team.
  • Develop Strategic relationships with senior representative in NGO’s and local government across identified growth areas
  • Work with Executive Manager and the Senior Leadership Team to identify growth opportunity in new and existing groups
  • Proactively drive the establishment of new Scout Groups by removing barriers to success
  • Provide visibility of department performance to the senior stakeholders, through dashboard reporting
  • Develop and maintain strong professional relationships with volunteer stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Drive and support the growth of additional sections within identified existing Scout Groups 
  • Develop communications strategies to support the establishment and growth of new Groups

About you:

The successful candidates will be able to demonstrate:

  • Team Leadership experience
  • Ability to engage and develop a local community of young people and adults
  • Strong project management and reporting skills
  • Experience working with diverse communities
  • Capacity to engage with representatives from State and Local Government and partner organisations
  • High level presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Competent skills in the Microsoft Office suite of products
  • An understanding of the functioning of Scout Groups and the Scouting program (desirable), or commensurate community involvement
