Team Leader (Oakleigh Library) & Learning Technologies Librarian

The Position: 

The role of the Library Team Leader is to provide high quality library & information services to the community.

The position is responsible for leading a branch team. The incumbent oversees all branch operations on a day to day basis and is to lead, manage and motivate branch staff. The Team Leader as a member of the Library Leadership Team will provide strategic leadership and actively develop polices for enhanced community engagement, lifelong learning and cultural inspiration for the Monash community.

Each Team Leader has a specific portfolio in addition to branch responsibilities.

 

What you need: 

  • Formal qualifications in Librarianship and  eligibility for ALIA membership
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • High level aptitude at using learning technologies
  • Role model in exercising resilience and demonstrating a positive attitude, especially within a team environment
  • Experience with collection development including digitisation preferably in a public library environment
  • Highly proficient skills in using electronic information resources, social media, mobile devices and similar technologies
  • Ability to conduct training and promotional sessions for the community
  • Ability to speak a language or languages other than English is advantageous.
  • The successful applicants will be required to work a 35 hour week with at least one rostered desk shifts at any of the 6 branch libraries on weekdays, up to 1 evening per week and weekends, which includes Saturdays & Sundays, according to the requirements of the roster.

Salary range: Band 6, $ 81,804.57 - $ 89,162.14 per annum (plus superannuation)
