Bynoe CACS Ltd is a well-established & known not for profit Indigenous owned enterprise established in 1975 to provide Public Housing, facilitate Federal & State Government programs, Employment & Enterprise development.
Forming part of the Executive Management Team, the CDP (work for dole) Project Co-Ordinator position will be an integral part of Bynoe CACS Ltd vision.
That is to provide interesting & exciting community based projects that provide participants useful skills that may assist them obtain employment
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES / ACCOUNTABILITIES:
GENERAL
- The CDP Project Co Coordinator is responsible for planning, overseeing and leading projects from ideation through to completion. This is a senior role at Bynoe CACS Ltd and requires interaction with a range of internal & external stakeholders, most often coordinating several moving projects at the same time while planning future projects simultaneously.
- Following community consultation a number of projects have been identified and these will be the initial focus of the CDP Project Coordinator to quickly move these forward from concept to reality.
- Bynoe is well resourced in equipment and skills and the Carpentaria Shire area provides most other skills that may be required on a contract basis from time to time.
KEY RELATIONSHIPS
- The CDP Project Coordinator is expected to interact professionally & efficiently with the:
- Chief Executive Officer
- CDP Manager
- Bynoe Senior Management Team
- Finance & Human Resources Department
- Workplace Safety Manager
- External Clients
- Internal Clients
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Leading project planning sessions
- Coordinating Bynoe Staff & Participants including regular project meetings with team leaders & participants
- Manage project(s) progress and adapt work as required
- Ensure projects are delivered on time within scope & budget
- Manage acquisition of supplies materials & services in relation to projects
- Manage relationships with participants & stakeholders
- Overseeing all incoming and outgoing project documentation
- Designing risk mitigation plans
- Manage large & diverse teams
- Conduct project reviews and create detailed reports for Bynoe executive staff
- Manage smaller activity projects that are ongoing on an annual basis.
- Meet with participants & community to obtain ideas for future projects
- Develop project scopes and objectives and ensure technical feasibility
KEY REQUIREMENTS
- Strong educational background
- Excellent communication skills (oral & written)
- Solid technical background with an understanding or hands on experience in construction field
- Strong organisation & time management skills with attention to detail and handling multiple tasks at same time.
- Computer skills particularly Microsoft Office
HR DEVELOPMENT
- Carry out appraisal of Bynoe Team Leaders and other paid staff, identify strengths & weakness and discuss these appraisals with employees in a consultative fashion.
- Identify employees for value adding training
OH & S WORKPLACE SAFETY
- Actively promote Bynoe’s commitment to workplace health and safety in conjunction with Bynoe’s Workplace Safety Officer.
- Ensure compliance with relevant WHS legislation, standards & Bynoe policy
- Ensure all employees & participants within their area of control receive appropriate training to perform their work safely.
- Ensure that all employees & participants comply with Bynoe’s WHS Management system
- Initiate where appropriate WHS activity within their areas of control including toolbox talks, risk assessments and inspections.
- Promote the reporting of hazards and actively engage in day to day safety discussions with employee’s & participants under their control
- Ensure that suitable PPE is provided to all employees & participants before commencement and that it is used as required & instructed.
ACADEMIC AND TRADES QUALIFICATIONS SKILLS REQUIRED:
MANDATORY
- Current motor vehicle licence
- Competence in operating 4WD vehicle
- Queensland White Card
- Provide or be able to provide a National Police Check with no adverse listing
DESIRABLE
- Qualification in a building trade
- Machinery Operators Accreditation
- First Aid Qualifications
- Satisfactory Health & Fitness level (Working outdoors will be required)
WORK EXPERIENCE AND OTHER SKILLS REQUIRED:
MANDATORY
- Experience in Project management or similar, or, Business Manager with experience coordinating large teams (20-100 people) per project
DESIRABLE
- Strong initiative & drive
- Ability to build & maintain positive relationships with colleagues & customers
- Leadership skills to manage motivate lead & develop employees to achieve high levels of performance.
- Experience working in a remote area
- Working with Aboriginal & Torres Straight People
- Working with people with limited skills but keen to learn
