About the business and the role

For our brand new campus in Australia (Melbourne CBD), we are looking for Cert IV Trainers & Assessors to provide the following courses

CUA50815 - Diploma of Music Industry (with outcomes Sound Production and Music Business)

• United POP offers training courses in the music and media sector

Job tasks and responsibilities

 

  • As a contract Trainer and Assessor, you will plan and maintain your ongoing classes, prepare course content delivery, tools and resources, and facilitate practical, hands-on workshops in our fully equipped modern classrooms
  • Your duties also include general administration of student files, marking assessments, operating training equipment, and maintaining student attendance registers
  • As an industry practitioner and expert in your field you will maintain industry currency on an on-going basis
  • Ensure you deliver current industry skills and knowledge to maintain our student promise to provide "high-level training"

Skills and experience

  • You are an expert in your field and have several years of relevant industry experience
  • You hold an appropriate degree or equivalent qualification and ideally already have practical experience as a trainer and assessor in the relevant subject matter
  • Have current industry skills directly relevant to the training and assessment being provided
  • Current knowledge and skills in vocational training and learning that informs your training and assessment.
  • You currently hold one of the following:

-       Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40110) including TAELLN411 (or its successor) or TAELLN401A, and TAEASS502 and relevant, vocational competencies to at least Diploma level

-       Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116) and relevant, vocational competencies to at least Diploma level

-       A diploma or higher level qualification in adult education

  • You are fluent in spoken and written English
  • You are familiar with sector-specific software and hardware
  • You are a good communicator, have an outgoing personality and are able to establish and maintain stable relationships with industry experts, and trainers and assessors from various fields
  • In addition to strong organisational skills, willingness to take responsibility, and didactic understanding; you also have the ability to quickly familiarise yourself with new subject areas
  • You enjoy organising additional support and learning experiences (such as guest speakers and events)
  • You like to work as part of a team
  • You are structured, careful, autonomous and able to work under pressure with a solutions-focus.
