Detailed Description

The UTS School of Education FASS is seeking to appoint a Senior Lecturer Education to lead, coordinate and manage the accreditation and compliance aspects of the School of Education's initial teacher education activities, with a subsequent longer term gradual return to teaching, learning and research in a discipline within the teacher education program.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead, coordinate, manage, create and monitor timelines, schedule and complete all registration/accreditation/compliance aspects and documentation for the teacher education degrees (NESA accreditation; MOUs with the NSW Department of Education and other organisations; LANTITE; Teacher Performance Assessments); and
  • Lead the annual data analysis and reporting.

This is a newly created opportunity that will enable you to share responsibility, along with the Head of School, Deputy Head of School (Education) and School Teaching and Learning Coordinator however primarily be in charge of coordination and operationalising the compliance and accreditation aspects of the initial teacher education program.

Upon completion of the 3 year fixed term, you will return to an integrated academic role teaching, learning and research within the teacher education program.

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Demonstrated in depth involvement in academic aspects of teacher education programs in one or more contexts in Australia
  • A history of excellence in project management, administration, written and oral communication and research scholarship
  • Knowledge and understanding of current regulatory frameworks for Australian teacher education programs
  • A doctoral qualification in an area related to the position
  • Experience in teaching and teaching scholarship in an Australian higher education context
  • Experience/success in teaching within pre-service education programs in Australia

Remuneration

Base Salary Range: $123,911 to $138,453 (Level C)

This role attracts 17% superannuation in addition to the base salary.

This position is full-time and appointment will be made on a continuing role basis.
