The Opportunity:

University Planning and Statistics (UPS) is an innovative, collaborative and responsive multi skilled team. UPS play a key role in supporting the development of evidence-based strategic planning and decision-making, in line with the University’s strategy – Focus Monash. The Planning team work collaboratively across the institution to deliver an integrated planning framework for the University, ensuring alignment of the strategic plan with all subsidiary plans including faculty and central planning as well as performance monitoring and annual student load planning.   

If you have extensive experience in a strategic planning function, highly developed relationship management skills, and an ability to analyse qualitative and quantitative information to identify key themes/trends/insights, then this is the role for you.

About the Role:

You will partner with faculties and central portfolios, actively contributing to the shaping of their planning processes to ensure the University’s planning framework is consistent with its ambitions. You will proactively monitor the University’s performance, undertaking high-level research and analysis to assess performance against subsidiary plan objectives, policy/process changes which impact student load management, trends in the higher education sector, and planning and monitoring student load. Reporting to the Manager of University Planning, you will actively collaborate with colleagues within UPS and other portfolios - Finance, Admissions, Faculties, Business Intelligence and Insights teams.

Your strategic awareness, interpersonal and communication skills will be essential to your success. You will have demonstrate a strong understanding of institutional planning, relationship management and consulting skills with an ability to influence and negotiate to facilitate successful outcomes. As the successful candidate, your ability to analyse the business environment to fully understand challenges and opportunities, and your analytical skills, which enable you to identify trends and patterns and translate into tangible insights and implications for the institution, will also be vital.
