About Melbourne School of Government
The Melbourne School of Government is an interdisciplinary school focused on the teaching and research of topics related to democracy, public policy and governance. The Foundation disciplines for the Melbourne School of Government are political science, economics and law. The Faculties of Arts, Business and Economics and the Melbourne Law School are core partner academic divisions supporting the development and delivery of the School’s mission, on and beyond teaching, research and engagement.
About the role:
The Lecturer in Political Programs will deliver public policy and governance subjects and executive programs for the Melbourne School of Government, including the hallmark Pathways to Politics Program for Women, and undertake research resulting in quality publications with leading publishers in relevant fields. Pathways to Politics is modelled on the Harvard Kennedy School program ‘From Harvard Square to the Oval Office.’ It is a non-partisan program funded by the Trawalla Foundation that provides a select group of female University of Melbourne students and alumni with the skills and networks to reach elected office at local, state and national levels.
The Lecturer, Political Programs will deliver all course material in the Pathway to Politics program and other suitable subjects offered by the Melbourne School of Government ensuring all learning outcomes are delivered. The lecturer will also contribute to the further development of the Program as a platform of activities across teaching, research and engagement as well as fostering links with external networks.
