For the last 10 years Literacy House has been supporting students to improve their reading, writing and spelling. We specialise in Literacy acquisition, connecting best researched and evidence based practice with experienced practitioners who can steer the complex course of acquiring strong skills.
We are a friendly, professional team and we thrive to be the 'best' in our field. We are looking for an additional team member who values their knowledge and work as much as we do. In collaboration with our Education Manager you will oversee your own case load, be trained in specific approaches to literacy development and establish strong relationships with your clients while monitoring improvement and providing ongoing formal and informal feedback.
Our office hours are Monday - Thursday from 12noon to 6.30pm and Saturdays from 10am to 2pm. We promote a healthy work/life balance slightly away from the 9-5 grind! There is always opportunities to create a flexible workload.
We are looking for someone with formal qualifications in Special Ed Teaching, Occupational Therapy or Speech Pathology who also has additional experience or studies in literacy and learning differences. We are looking for candidates who really understand (or who are excited to learn) how the brain learns to read and how to transfer such knowledge to create better outcomes for learners.
