We are currently seeking an experienced and passionate cook to join our friendly and supportive team. You will be required to plan, prepare and provide high quality nutritious meals in a safe and hygienic environment.
It is essential that you are an experienced cook for young children and are able to cater for children with various dietary requirements.
The successful candidate will have:
- A demonstrated understanding and capability for working with diversity.
- Thorough knowledge of the materials, methods, and equipment used in preparing food
- Considerable knowledge of food menu planning, and uses for left-over food
- Ability to take inventory and keep records of produce used
- Ability to work within a budget
- Ability to plan menus, devising ways of using left-over foods, and determining quantities of food required in preparing regular meals
- Ability to work long hours while standing
- Qualification in Safe Food Handling or Commercial Cookery
- A Working with Children Check, Police Checks and a driver's licence are also required.
Desirable criteria:
- Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
- Current First Aid Certificate and Anaphylaxis Management Training
- Training in nutrition and menu planning
