Early Childhood Teacher - ECT

Anchorage Early Learning is a family owned and operated early learning educational service catering for children aged from 6 weeks to 5 years. We are located in the beautiful leafy surrounds of Grays Point and overlooking the natural wildlife of the Port Hacking River. Our family orientated service has been established for 25 years supporting the children and families of the local community. An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our professional educational team in supporting our passion to early years education.

As an Early Childhood Teacher, you will be responsible for leading the Senior Toddler Program and working collaboratively with the centre educators. You will also be responsible for developing positive relationships with children to facilitate learning outcomes, observations and planning individual and group curriculum. You will be guided and reflective within the Early Years Learning Framework and the strengths and interests of each individual child.

Your role as an Early Childhood Teacher will see you use your knowledge and team work skills to develop an engaging, age appropriate educational school readiness program. You will be responsible for developing positive relationships with children, families and educators. 

Essential Qualifications and skills:

·       Bachelor of Teaching / Bachelor of Education – Early Childhood or similiar

·       First Aid Certificate

·       Asthma and Anaphylaxis Certificate

·       Strong Communication Skills

·       Current Working with Children Check

·       Proficiency in the English Language

·       Strong Computer skills

·       Experienced in Early Childhood Teaching

·       Child Protection Training

·       Proficient Teacher Status as determined by NESA

·       Sound understanding of and commitment to Early Childhood Practice that is informed by the Early Years Learning Framework.

·       Experience in developing, contributing to and implementing a centre's Quality Improvement Plan

·       Knowledge and implementation of the National Quality Framework

·       Enthusiasm and commitment to the early childhood profession

·       Ability to support and motivate teams

·       Working knowledge of Education and Care Services Regulations
