Compliance Manager: Not for Profit Industry RTO/GTO.

Hands on exciting role where you get to share your skills and experience to date within stable Nationwide RTO/GTO.

This is an RTO/GTO with a big focus on diversity and quality building along with genuinely supporting its students. They have had a large growth and cultural change over the last 2 years, and put a lot of money and time into staff/culture and improvement of student support systems/practices. This is an important role within the organization, and they talk the talk and walk the walk when it comes to supporting both staff and students to succeed.

With no direct reports to in this role, The Compliance Business Partner is primarily responsible for leading, managing and advising on contractual and regulatory compliance for both the RTO & GTO business units, coordinating document control and quality assurance and leading internal and external audits within the business. 80% RTO, and 20% GTO. 

GTO experience of additional benefit, but not required. Apprenticeships experience of additional benefit, but not required.

The functional deliverables of these accountabilities are required to be delivered within the operational parameters of company policies and processes, legislative requirements and best practice frameworks.

Your role is to empower the rest of the team to be responsible for their compliance and to support their growth. Main responsibilities will include: 

  • Management and Co-ordination of; 
    • Internal and external audits 
    • Contractual and regulatory compliance of the GTO and RTO business units 
    • Providing advice and direction of the compliance operation of the business 
  • Co-ordinate quality assurance and document control for the business 
  • Manage the businesses document storage process 
  • Support the management team and provide advice on operational compliance
  • Lead, coordinate and support relevant initiative projects in like with the strategic plan as required
  • Coaching and Mentoring of operational staff to build internal compliance knowledge
  • Ensure excellent customer/client/stakeholder services and experiences are maintained to a high standard
  • Establish and maintain positive stakeholder relationships with our network of hosts/clients and consistently promote a positive ‘Wow’ experience
  • Ensure efficient administration records are maintained in accordance with company policies, processes and relative legislative requirements
  • Represent NECA to various internal and external groups as required within the context of the functional purpose of the role
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives of the organisation through identifying areas and/or policies/procedures/systems requiring review or analysis
  • Promote safe working practices to support a safe working environment complying with all State and Federal regulations and legislation
  • Ensure to maintain up-to-date knowledge of internal and external department standards, procedures and requirements relative to the role

You will need:

  • Understanding and experience working under regulatory frameworks including VRQA and/or ASQA and HESG – Skills First contracts, VRQA guidelines and AQTF standards
  • Proven track record in leading audits with VRQA and/or ASQA and HESG
  • Experience developing and implementing policies and procedures that support business compliance for both VRQA and HESG
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and influential interpersonal skills, presentation and customer/client service skills
  • Strong attention to detail 
  • Excellent organisational skills, with a methodical approach
  • Comprehensive knowledge of general business compliance requirements
  • Proven track record building productive working relationships with varied stakeholders across a business
  • Can-do attitude, with a hands-on approach
  • Understanding and experience with project management concepts and plans 
  • Experience managing stakeholders

Must haves:

  • Experience implementing Regulator standards and guidelines
  • Experience in providing business advice on operational compliance 
  • Excellent understanding of all compliance matters that impact an RTO business division 
  • Excellent knowledge of RTO and OHS policies, practices and legislation
  • Demonstrated experience working within a similar role (desirable)
  • TAE
