We are looking to recruit a passionate and enthusiastic teacher of PE to work in a lovely secondary school with outstanding facilities on the island of Guernsey. This position is for one term, commencing September 2018 up until Christmas 2018. You will be required to teach up to GCSE (Year 10) only. There is potential for it to continue in to January but it is left open to suit both parties.

They are passionate about ensuring that every child reaches their full academic potential during their time with them, through engaging and varied learning experiences. They also want their pupils to develop the skills required to lead successful and happy lives in both their personal and working lives. In order to achieve this, they will work hard to ensure that they know every member of the school community as an individual; understanding personal strengths, talents and interests as well as providing support for those areas needing further development and guidance.

The successful candidate will be/have:

• Able to commit to one full term on the island of Guernsey, and have no commitments in the UK that may prevent them from staying on the island from September to December.
• A Qualified PE teacher or sports coach who can teach PE up to GCSE (Year 10)
• The ability to work alone, and plan, prepare and deliver exciting and innovating lessons.
• The ability to differentiate as there is a vast range of abilities within the school.
• Strong classroom management, and able to manage any challenging behaviour in a calm and affective manner.
• Comfortable with their own company, or enjoy making friends with the locals and other supply teachers on the island!
• Happy to work on a small island that has around only 63,000 people, a limited amount of shops and restaurants, and with inflated prices (the cost of living is higher than the UK).
