About the role
The Library Technician is a key front-line point of contact for students, staff and other users of the University Library. Responsibilities include: resolving basic issues; responding to enquiries regarding the Library’s lending services, technology and or other resources; demonstrating how to navigate the University’s website for information about study skills, referencing and research data management; and assisting with basic technology issues such as print and copy problems.
About you
To be successful you will have a qualification in Library Practice and experience working in a library environment providing client services using library management systems; demonstrated information retrieval skills using catalogues, index and database searching; effective interpersonal, teamwork and time management skills; and the ability to negotiate with sometimes difficult clients using discretion in applying rules, regulations and procedures.
