More about the role

The role of the HammondCare College Manager (Residential Aged Care) works within the Mission and Mission in Action of HammondCare to make a significant contribution to meeting the Education needs throughout HammondCare. It is a central role, providing program development, implementation, delivery and support to the College and all staff within Residential Aged Care.

The role requires a flexible and proactive approach to service delivery. Working across a large geographic context during a period of significant growth you will need to respond to emerging and complex learning needs. Combining the ability to work at a fast and flexible pace and to contribute significantly to the various IT based systems in place to manage data and report activities.

The essence of this role:

  • Management of Education delivery initially in Residential Care.
  • Provides program development, implementation, delivery and support to the College and all staff within Residential Aged Care.
  • Respond to emerging and complex learning needs across a large geographic context.
  • Work in consultation with residential manager and residential general manager

About You

  • Commitment to engage and align with HammondCare’s Christian Mission, Motivation and Mission in Action.
  • Certificate IV in Training & Assessment is essential
  • Registered Nurse qualification - Desirable
  • Strong understanding of instructional design methodologies and practical experience developing training programs
  • Significant experience in classroom facilitation and excellent communication skills.
  • It is expected that the incumbent will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in working with older people, particularly those with dementia.
  • Good understanding of the requirements of aged care, including the Accreditation Standards, legislative requirements, current best practices, behavioural and clinical aspects of dementia.
  • Demonstrated ability to liaise well with key stakeholders such as operational managers, care staff and colleagues.
  • Experience in delivering education solutions using a blended learning approach
  • Experience managing a team of skilled professionals.
  • Experienced in operating effectively in a multi-site environment.
  • A current drivers licence and safe driving record. Willingness to travel between HammondCare’s sites and services.
  • Strong administrative and computer skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Empathy and patience.
