Lauriston Girls' School was established in 1901, and have been in our present site on Huntingtower Road, Armadale since 1907.

THE ROLE:
As the Individual Needs Coach and Resource Teacher (Years 5 to 8) you will work closely with the Individual Differences Coordinator, Individual Differences teachers in the Junior and Senior Schools, School Psychologists and teachers to support the individual learning needs of students from Years 5 to 8.
Located at the Lauriston Girls’ School Armadale Campus, and reporting to the Vice Principal, you will work closely with key staff in the development of individual programs and in supporting the teachers in differentiating for students with learning needs.
This is a FTE 0.8 (negotiable) role
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate with the Individual Differences Coordinator, Individual Differences teachers and teachers in the development of subject-based resources which differentiate for the individual needs of students
- Collaborate with the Individual Differences Coordinator, Individual Differences teachers and the School Psychologists in the ongoing monitoring of students with learning needs and utilise the School processes and procedures for the management of the students
- Work with teachers in the Junior and Senior Schools to facilitate the learning support of individual students, through working within small-group or individual-support environments
- Develop and implement strategies to improve the literacy skills of students with learning needs
- Support the English Faculty and Junior School teachers with literacy development
- Work with teachers to develop effective pedagogy for the delivery of Individual Education Plans for students or intervention strategies
- Support teachers in the implementation of a differentiated curriculum within their classrooms
- Support teachers in the modification of work and assessment for students with learning needs
- Monitor students with identified learning needs and regularly review their progress with classroom teachers
SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of five years’ experience working with students requiring additional support or extension
- Relevant post graduate qualification
- Demonstrated capacity to coach and/or mentor
- Demonstrated capacity to develop resources for use in the classroom
- Team player
