The Organisation:

Youth Off The Streets is a non-denominational community organisation working for disadvantaged young people who may be homeless, drug dependent and / or recovering from  abuse. Youth Off The Streets supports these young people as they work to turn their lives around and overcome immense personal trauma such as neglect, physical, psychological and / or emotional abuse.

It is our goal that these young people will leave our care drug free, with a high school education, living skills and a full time or part time job in hand.

The Role:

The responsibility of the PaTH Facilitator is to deliver quality Vocational Education Units of competency to external clients referred by Jobactive agencies. Additionally the position is responsible for delivering programs aimed at developing clients’ capacity to secure sustainable employment.

This is a max term full time role until 26 June 2020, reporting directly to the Director Training and Development Services. The position is based out of our site at Cordeaux Heights however travel is required.

Responsibilities of the position fall within these key areas of focus:

  • Deliver and assess high quality and engaging training
  • Maintain accurate and updated recording of assessment results and case notes
  • Meet  all administrative requirements required to issue results to participants
  • Provide  appropriate, relevant and useful feedback to learners 
  • Maintain accurate enrolment and attendance record keeping via database systems
  • Prepare and maintain delivery material and resources prior to course delivery
  • Prepare reports to Director Training and Development Services and stakeholders as required
  • Complete  and maintain a regular work plan
  • Consult with the RTO Manager to ensure all aspects of program meet client and stakeholder needs

Secondary Activities

  • Assist with the compliance and legislated requirements of the Registered Training Organisation; 
  • Maintain and contribute to RTO regulatory requirements
  • Participate in validation, moderation and reviews of training and assessment materials
  • Contribute to and undertake quality assurance processes within the team and organisation; 
  • Undertake office administrative duties as required by the RTO Manager; 
  • Assist in the maintenance of equipment and asset management; 
  • Attend and contribute to regular staff and other meetings as required; 
  • Comply with all WHS responsibilities
  • Contribute to the strategic direction of the organisation 

Selection Criteria:

Essential:

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment TAE40110 or TAE40116 or diploma qualifications (TAE50216 or TAE50116)
  • Knowledge  and practical experience working with disadvantaged youth
  • 2-3 years’ experience of relevant work experience in the same or similar role
  • Strong understanding of Employability Skills Framework
  • Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated capacity to engage with people from diverse backgrounds
  • Experience in designing ,developing and delivering session plans and course material
  • Attention to detail and ambition to deliver high quality end products
  • Current and valid Working With Children Check
  • Current and valid Driver’s Licence

Desirable:

  • TAE units: TAEASS502, TAELLN411, TAELLN412 or TAELLN413
  • FSK20113 Certificate II in Skills for Work and Vocational Pathways
  • Community Services or Education qualification
