Childcare Assistant Manager (ECT Qualified) | Macquarie Park (Acre Woods)

As the Assistant Manager you will partner with our Centre Manager to mentor, lead and inspire our team to achieve success. You will play a pivotal role in building rich relationships within the centre and driving pedagogy best practice. Lead the 2-3.5 years room, with support from your fellow Educators. 

Acre Woods Childcare – Macquarie Park is a purpose built 81 place early learning centre located on Talavera Road near both Macquarie University train station and Macquarie Shopping Centre. All of the classrooms overlook the outdoor learning environment which is surrounded by trees, producing plenty of natural shade and it encourages curiosity and exploration.

The opportunity

• Partnering with the Centre Manager to lead a high-quality culture of rich learning environment for the children, families, educators and community
• Working as part of the leadership team contributing to quality improvement within in your Centre
• Providing leadership to the team in conjunction with the Centre Manager, managing day to day issues and resolving issues as they arise
• Ensuring all policies and regulatory requirements are embedded within the Centre

 To be considered you will have

• Bachelor of Teaching/Education (Early Childhood) or ACECQA assessed qualifications
• Previous experience as an Assistant Manager
• Sound, practical working knowledge and implementation of the National Quality Framework and the Early Years Learning Framework
• Current First Aid and Asthma & Anaphylaxis certificates
• Current Working with Children check
• Passion and ability to inspire, motivate and maintain a positive learning culture within the centre for children, for your families and for your Educator colleagues

Meet our centre Manager

Kristine Dowell is the Director at Acre Woods Macquarie Park. She began her study at Meadowbank TAFE & transitioned onto Macquarie University completing her Bachelor of Education, Early Childhood Education in 2009.

During her time in the early childhood industry, Kristine has worked in vacation care, Out of School Hours Care, preschools, child care centres & dance schools. Early childhood education is her passion & from a very young age she decided she wanted to be a teacher when she grew up.
