About the Role
YMCA WA is currently seeking a part time Food Coordinator, (Cook), to join our team at Ashdale Early Learning Centre located in Darch. The Food Coordinator provides healthy and nutritious meals for children and is required to maintain the kitchen/dining environment in line with Health Regulations. The successful applicant will have food handling or nutrition and menu planning certificates or be willing to work towards obtaining these. You must also be able to obtain a Working with Children Check and National Police Certificate prior to employment.
YMCA Ashdale Early Learning Centre was purpose built to support the needs of the local community. The centre has an amazing natural outdoor environment and is a member of Remida; a creative reuse centre that supplies recyclable materials for children to be creative with and learn about sustainability.
Duties:
- To plan, in consultation with the Director, a menu for children 0 – 5 years of age which is nutritional, well balanced and suited to the dietary needs of children and in keeping within the allocated budget
- To purchase a list of provisions required each week/month
- To prepare and cook all meals and snacks daily as required to service in consultation with the Director
- Compliance with food safety and hygiene requirements and all other relevant OH&S practices
