WEA Sydney is a long-established and respected adult education and training provider based in the City of Sydney.  While it specialises in general adult education programs, WEA Sydney is also an accredited Registered Training Organisation (RTO) licenced by ASQA to offer a small range of accredited vocational and training courses, including TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.  WEA Sydney now seeks an experienced VET Manager to ensure its compliance with AQF and ASQA standards and other government legislative requirements, and to develop a range of VET courses in line with both its RTO standing and its general, non-accredited program. 

This is a part-time position, for two days per week (14 hours) with a salary of $52.00 per hour, plus superannuation. 

We are looking for someone with demonstrated organisational skills in an educational setting; Cert IV TAE40116 (minimum qualification); deep familiarity with AQF and ASQA accreditation frameworks; strong computer skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to work independently and as part of a small senior team.The position may suit a current part-time VET manager at a similar institute.

Job Responsibilities

  • ensure compliance with all ASQA and AQF quality standards requirements
  • maintain WEA Sydney’s scope of Recognition
  • manage RTO registration procedures and documentation
  • maintain trainer files, and arrange Personal Development classes to promote VET currency
  • support and promote WEA Sydney’s continuous improvement procedures
  • develop new VET courses that will expand WEA’s overall course offerings
  • revitalise WEA’s computer training program
  • seek out opportunities for government support funding for an enhanced VET course program
  • conduct course and assessment review and validation sessions
  • prepare for and participate in audits of vocational programs, including checks of actual assessments.
