YMCA Belconnen is an Exceeding rated early education and care centre. We are seeking an Educational Leader/Assistant Director who believes in the importance of challenging thinking through reflective practice and are committed to ongoing research and discovery. Your passion and enthusiasm for the development of children's formative years by initiating play based experiences will be demonstrated in your experience of working in the Early Childhood Education sector. A demonstrated practical knowledge of the NQF and EYLF is essential in this position as you will be responsible for guiding and influencing Educators practice and documentation. You will be working collaboratively with the Director who will assist you in driving the Centre's vision and philosophy. You will be responsible for cultivating a community of learning guided by theoretical and philosophical knowledge bases, whilst challenging the constraints of a traditional education and care setting. We are looking for someone who enjoys a challenge and is in it for the long haul.
All candidates must address the selection criteria:
- Demonstrated experience working in Early Childhood settings, adhering to NQF requirements.
- Strong understanding and practical knowledge of early childhood approaches, theories and philosophies, and the Early Years Learning Framework.
- Ability to lead a team of Educators in their pedagogical practice with excellent communication skills and the ability to get the best results from educators with a range of abilities and skills.
- Experience assisting the day to day management of an Early Childhood centre, including acting as the Responsible Person
- In depth understanding of Child Protection and the obligations in a professional education setting.
- Recognised qualification in Early Childhood Education (such as a Degree or Diploma)
- Current WWVP Check and First Aid, Asthma and Anaphylaxis Certificate
