About the role: 

This is an exciting opportunity to join a new Disability Employment Service. The first Victorian TAFE to become a service provider. The Senior Employment Consultant will provide high quality employment services to clients of the Disability Employment Services (DES) program. Liaising closely with clients, the Senior Employment Consultant will ensure a holistic approach is taken to securing the most sustainable employment solutions for all program participants.

The position assists the Site Manager in managing best practice administration and support services to ensure the success of the BHI Group’s Disability Employment Services (DES) project. This includes supervision of the team and office operations as required.

As part of the Jobs Engagement Team, the Senior Disability Employment Consultant will be responsible for the delivery of DES to clients in Ringwood and associated outreach locations within the Bayside DES ESA. This role manages the successful delivery of DES in the Bayside Region to meet key performance indicators (KPIs), comply with contractual obligations and program guidelines, in accordance with relevant statutory, regulatory and BHI Group requirements.

The Jobs Engagement Team enhances the capacity and capability of the BHI Group to bridge the gap between the current and future needs of key growth sectors and the skills of potential employees. It manages and monitors the contractual obligations and legislative compliance of programs for clients in diverse settings.

Your skills and experience

• A relevant qualification or training in Employment Services or equivalent combination of qualifications and experience.
• Employment Services: Proven substantial experience working in Disability Employment Services or relevant industry including cold calling, sales and case management experience is preferred. Extensive knowledge of the local labour market and current employment trends plus the ability to actively source suitable employment options for jobseekers
• Client Centricity and Empathy: Demonstrated commitment to delivering high quality outcomes for clients, seeking ways to continuously improve service to meet client needs, and the ability to see issues from the perspective of people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
• Teamwork: Cooperates and works well with others in the pursuit of team goals and KPIs, accommodating different working styles of others.
• Relationship Management Skills: Proven experience and ability to establish and maintain useful relationships with people at all levels across business areas, and internal/external clients. Ability to support business development and networking initiatives to achieve program goals.
• Negotiation and Communication Skills: Strong negotiation and communication skills, in particular the ability to confidently convey ideas and information in a clear and interesting way, understand and meet the needs of target audience.
• Travel Requirement: Valid driver’s license is essential as travel to multiple sites may be required.

You will need to provide or be willing to obtain a current National Police Records Check, a Working with Children Check, evidence of your entitlement to work in Australia, and certified copies of your qualifications.
