About the business and the role

Greenwich English College Pty Ltd (a member of the RedHill Education Group) is one of the biggest ELICOS colleges in Australia, delivering programs in English Language, Test Preparation, and English for Specific Purposes, and Vocational courses to more than 2000 students from 30 different countries each week.

Greenwich has been growing rapidly over recent years and is expanding. To help us manage this effectively, we are currently seeking a Student Services Team Leader – VET & ELICOS - for an immediate start.

Successful candidates will have excellent attention to detail and communication skills, good people skills and should be very organised. Experience in the international student industry and within the Student Services department is a prerequisite.

Reporting to the Assistant Operations Manager of Greenwich English College (and based in Melbourne CBD), the Student Services Team Leader will be responsible for ensuring that the services provided to students are prompt, educated and of utmost quality

Job tasks and responsibilities include but not limited to

  • Oversee overall Student Services team functions
  • Allocate tasks to Student Services Team
  • Manage Campus Student Services Inbox
  • Implement and develop New Student Arrival Experience and processes
  • Oversee and Conduct Student Counselling when necessary
  • Address Direct Student Inquiries when necessary
  • Oversee, conduct and develop Student Orientation sessions
  • Cooperate with all internal and external stakeholders
  • Promote student retention activities and strategies
  • Create new opportunities for student extensions and upgrades  through internal events 
  • Oversee Accommodation & Airport Transfer Processes
  • Ensure that all Student Services Processes are documented according to Operations and Admissions Manager guidelines

Skills and experience

  • Experience within the International Student industry and Student Services Department
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills, including time management and prioritisation skills
  • Strong written and spoken communication, interpersonal, and intercultural skills
  • Knowledge of international student services issues
  • Complete commitment to quality customer service – internal and external
  • Ability to consistently and accurately follow a broad range of complex policies and procedures
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-cultural team
  • Maintain a detailed knowledge of Greenwich and RedHill Education Group businesses and programs

Key requirements:

  • Solid computer skills – Microsoft Word & Excel; some database experience
  • Full work rights in Australia required
  • Excellent written and spoken English essential, other languages desirable
  • Experience in VET and/or ELICOS industry is essential
  • Experience using STARS student management system and PRISMS is a plus
