About the business and the role
Lycée Condorcet - The International French School of Sydney is an independent, co-educational school in Maroubra which caters to students from "Maternelle" to Year 12 and follows the French curriculum.
Approved by the French Education Ministry and the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA), the school is looking for a full-time Mathematics & Physics Teacher for junior and senior secondary school from 13 August 2018.
Job tasks and responsibilities
The main duties of this position are:
- Teaching Mathematics and Physics in French to students from Year 6 to Year 12 in consultation with other teachers
- Provide personalised education
- Follow up students on Personalised Education Plans
Skills and experience
Working under the authority of the Principal, the candidate will:
- Have a successful work experience teaching Year 11 and Year 12 students
- Have a proven practice in the delivery of the Junior Secondary curriculum
- Be able to adapt their teaching to the students' needs
- Have the ability to integrate technology into their teaching
- Have the ability to promote and enhance the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) culture in the school
- Show a real ability to work as part of a team
- Hold a teaching degree from the French education system
- Hold a certification to teach the subject in English (European Section Teaching)
- Have an attested C1 level in the English language (IELTS 7)
- Have full working rights
- Have a current Working with Children Check Clearance or be willing to obtain one prior to employment
- Have current Child Protection training and First Aid certificates – desirable
