Pacific Asia Express (PAE) is the Australian agency for international shipping lines', Pacific International Lines (PIL) and Pacific Direct Line (PDL) and Mariana Express Lines (MEL). Head Office is located in Melbourne and branch offices situated in all Australian capital cities, Mildura, Townsville and Launceston.
We are seeking an experienced Sales Support Officer to join the Pacific Asia Express sales team.
This is a frontline role for all customers including promoting sales for PAE and all Group business units. This will involve liaising with customers for all functions relating to shipping and land based logistics such as:
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and provide freight quotations
- Develop and maintain direct face-to-face sales/marketing contact with customers either new or existing in an effort to broaden our customer base.
- Negotiation of freight rates, customer quotes, bookings, FOB sales leads and general enquiries.
- Prepare and maintain cargo statistics and assist with compilation of sales reports
- Develop and co-ordinate national data base with customer's applicable information.
- Maintain any applicable freight rates in LMS for creation of RFA's.
- Assist the Sales Executive & State Manager, as and when required.
- Contribute to a culture with a focus on each individual taking responsibility for their role and working within a positive team environment.
Requirements:
- Demonstrate initiative and have a minimum of 3 years shipping industry experience, with a sound knowledge of current practices and procedures of the shipping & transport industry.
- Ability to prioritize various tasks to deliver required outcomes within tight deadlines.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, attention to detail and time management.
- Develop and maintain relationship with clients as well as out international offices
- Working both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Office.
