The Company

My client manufactures recognised products in a faced paced and complex environment. Supplying to ANZ markets with a challenging turnaround time they require a highly skilled Materials Planner with commercial acumen to assist with their purchasing, expediting and materials flow function.

The Role

Reporting to the Procurement and Materials Manager, this role is responsible for working strategically with suppliers to ensure components and parts are delivered to manufacturing on-time and in full. Some of the other responsibilities include:

• Assist in achieving  100% production plan attainment
• Purchase raw materials for the production of customised products
• Work with the materials purchasing team to ensure the on-time availability of components to the line
• Manage suppliers and look for opportunities to drive down cost 
• Continually evaluate current procedures and look for new opportunities to improve processes

Your Background

Your commerciality and ability to communicate strongly will assist in fostering improved relationships with vendors and suppliers. You must have had experience as a buyer or materials planner in a past position, where you worked with suppliers to ensure supply to manufacturing. Ability to work cross-functionally and externally in a must.
