ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
We have an amazing opportunity for a developing individual who is keen to continue their experience and passion in lean manufacturing and quality within a busy and growing manufacturing environment. Through your contribution to lean manufacturing processes, the enhancement of quality control measures and the delivery of continuous improvement projects this exciting role will see you become a trusted advisor to our business.
Specific accountabilities for this role include:
- Assisting to drive the implementation of the quality management strategy and system
- Raising awareness of lean manufacturing and implementing lean manufacturing techniques
- Driving continuous improvement across the business by working with departments to identify opportunities to streamline processes and reduce waste
- Providing technical advice and support for the development of new products ensuring that there are quality measures in place
- Investigating and analysing the root causes of non-conformance reports and warranty claims and implementing appropriate solutions
- Conducting detailed quality checks of the purchasing, manufacturing and distribution of goods and report findings to the Quality Manager
- Creating and maintaining the businesses quality management documentation
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Our ideal candidate will have:
- A genuine interest in lean manufacturing and quality with an interest in continuing to develop their career in this field
- Ideally, a Degree in Engineering (mechanical/electrical/industrial)
- Some experience in a related discipline within a manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of LEAN together with some experience in its application in manufacturing
- A commitment to continuous quality improvement coupled with some experience in working with quality standards
- Excellent interpersonal skills together with a demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment, across multiple departments and at different levels within the organization.
- Comfortable in delivering training to shop-floor employees, technical experts, and customers.
- Advanced Excel skills and intermediates skills in Word, Power Pint and Outlook
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Well-developed organisation skills including the ability to be resourceful in accomplishing objectives and completing tasks.
- Thinks independently, shows initiative and anticipates and prevents problems before they occur.
- A high level of drive, passion and resilience
