Yusen Logistics is a world-leading total supply chain and logistics solutions provider with 15 locations across Australia and New Zealand.
We are recruiting for a Transport Supervisor to join our Sensitive Freight business based in Tullamarine. The successful applicant will have exceptional organisational skills to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. A high level of attention to detail and an exceptional customer service focus will see the right person succeed in this role. In addition, this role will have supervisory responsibilities for Drivers, Offsiders and a Transport Allocator.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supervision, performance management and development of team
- Input and maintain job allocation data in TMS
- Effective allocation of driver runs and job assignment to maximise driver resources, and meet team KPIs and customer requirements
- Data entry, monitoring and reporting on job allocations for intrastate/interstate consignment on-forwarding
- Organise transport via external 3rd party service providers.
- Reporting on resource availability and requirements, including input into sourcing temporary labour to meet workload fluctuations
- Maintain effective communication with internal (operations staff, management) and external stakeholders (customers, sub-contractors) regarding bookings
- Provide information and reporting on achievement against KPIs, movement manifests, and linehaul data reports
Skills, Experience, Knowledge required:
- Minimum of 5 years' relevant or similar commercial experience (and 3 years' experience in a Supervisory capacity)
- A passion for customer satisfaction and service delivery within a customer-facing environment
- Demonstrated knowledge of/experience in Logistics/Transport operations including knowledge of WH&S obligations (e.g. fatigue management requirements) and the greater Melbourne locale
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written), including the ability to understand and communicate effectively
- High level of data accuracy and attention to detail
- Experience using TMS, fleet tracking systems, and external carrier booking systems
- High level of proficiency using MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint in particular)
