Our globally recognised company now has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced sales and business focused Branch Operations Manager, to lead the Canberra team.

The Position:
Reporting to the Moving Services Manager VIC, NSW, ACT the successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic direction, operational control of the Canberra branch activities in order to achieve budget revenue/profit and cash flow targets.

This role will have a shared sales and operations accountabilities. To effectively and profitably manage the household / commercial removals and storage within the profit and cash targets agreed.

 Additional responsibilities will include;

  • Management of the Canberra team, ensuring staff are provided with the necessary training and guidance to ensure achievement of individual and branch objectives
  • Ensure all H&S regulations are strictly adhered too
  • Plan, control and ensure the daily allocation of operational resources is conducted in a manner, which is within direct cost targets and meets required levels of customer service
  • The achievement of budgeted trading profits & debtor day
  • To generate maximum revenue by selling the portfolio of company services, benefits and qualities to clients, ensuring all avenues and opportunities are actively sought for conversion.
  • Deal with major customer queries
  • Produce management reports when required, which includes regular participation in management meetings
  • Assist in the resolution of daily operational problems
  • Attract, develop & maintain a customer base in order to achieve revenue & profit targets

Further responsibilities for this position include the planning and achievement of revenue, profit and cash control targets, whilst effectively managing all property, assets, human resources and systems resources under your control.  Effective interaction with staff, clients, and the wider community are all essential aspects of this role.

This position is one that would suit a highly organised, determined and sales driven individual. As the successful candidate you will need to demonstrate the following skills and attributes:

  • Proven experience in a similar sales/operational leadership role
  • Thorough understanding and proven application of sales techniques
  • An ability to maximize sales revenue potential and exceed sales targets and KPI’s
  • Industry leading Consultative Selling Skills with strong closing ability
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills
  • Effective time management and follow up skills
  • Be highly motivated and enthusiastic with the ability to work independently or in a team as required

Skills:
To ensure success in this varied role, the ideal candidate will have experience managing staff, have excellent communication skills (written and verbal), sound understanding of OH&S legislation, is a self-motivated team player, who leads by example. Previous experience within a similar role and knowledge of the Transport and Logistics industry would be extremely well regarded.
