We are currently seeking an experienced Operations Supervisor to join our Sydney Branch.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

• Ensure day to day tasks are undertaken and completed in line with the business and customer requirements
• Ensure the Control Tower delivers efficiencies through the use of filters, dashboards and managing by exception.
• Complete end to end customer service functions, including liaison with relevant Geodis offices, both locally, Interstate and overseas.
• Deliver the specific goals in relation to customer intimacy, value creation, operational excellence and financial improvement.
• Efficient utilization of E-Services / CRM tools
• Perform all operational functions, including but not limited to; Registration, Costing, Transport, Invoicing, Order Management.
• Prepare soft copy shipping documents for file registration
• Check all shipping details are correct  utilising 1-STOP, ICS and Shipping Line website
• Updating shipment details in the Cargowise system on receipt of arrival notices
• Work closely with customs brokers to facilitate clearance and Quarantine requirements
• Processing COMPAY payments to Shipping Lines and Freight Forwarders
• Lodging original bills of Lading with Shipping Lines
• Liaising with Shipping Lines and freight Forwarders to obtain EDOs
• Pre-alerting trucking companies
• Providing trucking companies with all transport documentation they require.
• Checking the customs status on shipments
• Problem solving related to customs / AQIS formalities and service provider failures
• Ensuring all job notes are kept up to date on a job by job basis
• Ensure operational stability is maintained with corrective action plans implemented to address ongoing issues
• Monitor and report on a monthly basis the client performance as well as action plans where required
• Monitor client volume developments as required or requested
• Establish and regularly review operational KPI’s and ensure agreement / understanding from operations. Monitor operational excellence against the KPI’s and communicate to operations / management.
• Work with the Key Account Manager & Control Tower Manager to create and implement strategies that provide a solid platform to support long term business success.
• Demonstrate strong awareness and understanding of financial management and cost controlling for client under supervision.
• Build & maintain SOPs as required, updating as required. As well as identifying areas for improvement and proposing new solutions to the Control Tower Manager.
• Ensure day to day tasks are undertaken and completed in line with the business and customer requirements
• Be accountable for branch / team fiscal requirements and all business KPI’s
• Meet all Quality, Environmental and OH&S criteria and ensure adherence to all requirements and procedures as stipulated in the Geodis Wilson IMS Manual
• Role includes any other related duties as so requested by management.

To qualify for this role you must have the following skills and experience :

• 1- 2 Years industry experience or more in a similar role
• Knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook
• Good knowledge of Cargowise / EDI Enterprise
• Time management
• Communication Skills
