About the role
We are seeking an experienced Health, Safety & Environment Manager to create a culture of safety across our business in a team environment.
We expect high energy, passion and initiative for safety, quality and our business and people. The successful candidate will play the lead role in managing our safety management systems and will strive to create a strong safety culture in the workplace.
The successful candidate will
- Manage the complete Work Health & Safety function, including ISO45001/AS-NZS4810 certification
- Manage the complete Environmental Management System, including ISO14001 certification
- Work with People & Culture to ensure safety is aligned with employee engagement
- Create and drive a safety and environmentally responsible culture across Australia and NZ
- Complete regular site visits to our branches around Australia and NZ
- Manage lost time incidents, return to work and investigate near misses
- Prepare reports and data analysis to the Executive team and Board
It is critical that you have a rock solid commitment to making sure that the fundamentals are in place from a Safety perspective, and you are willing to get your hands dirty if needed.

Skills and experience
To be successful in this role you will have:
- A strong track record in a strategic HSE leadership role
- Demonstrated Change Management skills
- The ability to engage with all levels of staff
- Demonstrated ability to drive cultural change
- Strong emphasis and demonstrated capability to deliver compliant training solutions
- Proven knowledge of safety and environmental standards and legislation across ANZ
- Proven influencing and relationship building skills at all levels within an organisation
- A strategic mindset and strong technical knowledge with commercial pragmatism
- Exposure to civil construction and/or manufacturing will be highly regarded
- Relevant Tertiary qualifications or at least 5yrs equivalent experience
