PURCHASING OFFICER FOOD SERVICE INDUSTRY
Smimac Pty.Ltd. is a locally owned and operated wholesale food distributor servicing Central Australia for 47 years.
An opportunity exists for an experienced purchasing officer who is a reliable and self-motivated person to join our professional purchasing department. Applicants must have past experience in a similar purchasing role to secure this position and experience in the food industry would be an advantage. This position requires regular communication with our suppliers and freight service providers as well as liasing with our own sales and warehouse teams on all stock supply matters.There will be some manual stocktaking of all frozen, perish and dry product included in this role. This is a full-time position with normal hours being 7.30am and 4.30pm Monday to Friday. You must possess;
- Strong administrative skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills.
- Excellent time management skills
- Able to investigate all supply and freight issues
- Adhere to purchasing policies and procedures
- Experience in similar purchasing role
- Previous experience in food service industry would be highly regarded
- Able to work as part of a busy professional team
