Drivetrain Australia Pty Ltd is a subsidiary of Engenco Limited. This division specialises in Powertrain Components, specifically Transmissions, Torque Converters, Axles, Differentials and Brake assemblies and offers a comprehensive package of MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul), New Component Sales and Spare Parts supply.

We now have an exciting opportunity for a driven and experienced individual to join our organisation as a Senior Service Technician for our Mackay operations. This role is required to provide excellence in service support for Drivetrain's customers both in the field and workshop and be responsive to customer and Drivetrain needs, complete service responsibilities with requisite care, skill, diligence and knowledge and assist Drivetrain to build its profile providing prompt courteous service.

Key responsibilities:

Technical:

  • Install, remove, overhaul, maintain, repair, test, calibrate and commission mechanical equipment and systems to conform to specifications, regulations and safety requirements for all applications.
  • Carry out work in a punctual, efficient and timely manner with regard to the commercial outcomes or every job.
  • Collaborate with supervisors to ensure timely and efficient allocation of staff and resources to meet the company's objectives and priorities. This may include working from time to time in other business units of Drivetrain
  • Collaborate with mechanical tradespersons and apprentices to achieve company objectives as defined by the Project Manager from time to time.
  • Read basic electrical, mechanical drawings and specifications to accurately determine job requirements.
  • Assist in the planning and the execution of mechanical work and inspection, test and calibration activities.
  • Proactively maintain efficient and safe workshop/workstation/site layout and associated work processes

OHS and QA

  • Comply with all statutory and Drivetrain Power and Propulsion Integrated Management System requirements and procedures, including, but not limited to, Safe Work Method Statements, Safe work procedures, Quality Procedures and Inspection and Test Plans.
  • Competently conduct and document inspections and tests according to Inspection and Test Plans, checklist, Inductions and Risk Assessments.
  • Isolate action and report any hazard or non-conformance according to company OHS and QA policies and procedures.
  • Only undertake activities for which you have the current valid qualifications and training, especially where a license or certificate of competency is required.

Position Requirements

Essential:

  • Experience as a Workshop Coordinator or Leading hand role
  • Mechanical trade qualification I.E (Diesel Fitter, Plant Mechanic, Heavy Vehicle Mechanic, LV Mechanic Other)
  • Excellent diagnostics, repairing and rebuilding skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills and presentation
  • Computer literate
  • Current Driver’s license and own transport
  • Ability to work in a team environment to obtain a positive outcome for all customers
  • Willingness to learn and engage in customer requirements inductions etc.
  • Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety regulations

Desirable

  • Experience with large off highway machinery/ equipment is highly regarded
  • QA, Risk assessment and OHS documentation experience
  • Experience in the maintenance repair and overhaul of driveline component’s I.E axles, torque Converters, brake units and transmissions
  • Experience with Dana, or other Axle and Transmission product brands would be highly regarded.
  • Diesel engine rebuilding experience highly regarded
