Our client is an innovative, professional, international freight forwarding specialist. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Air/Sea Freight Export Operations Professional to join their friendly Melbourne based team. If you enjoy working alongside dynamic, forward thinking professionals, whilst taking great pride in providing excellence in customer service, and you are experienced with Air/Sea freight Export operations; then this could be the role for you!
Your daily key duties and responsibilities will consist of but not be limited to:
- Job registrations
- FCL & LCL
- Tracking of consignments and keeping customers updated
- Invoicing
- Liaising with overseas offices and agents
- Liaising with consignees
- Passing on documents to internal departments
- Attending to Bookings - LCL / FCL / Airfreight and arrange FAK's
- Arrange Transport
- Export Customs Formalities (EDN's/CRN's)
- Checking and Submitting/Lodging Hazardous documentation and details (to Carriers and Ports)
- Issuing Forwarding Instructions and Bills of Lading
- Invoicing and Entering Cost estimates (then passing over supplier invoices to Supervisor)
- Order Follow ups
- Assisting with obtaining supplier rates
- Any other duties as set out by management
To be considered you must possess the following attributes:
- Minimum 1 to 3 years of experience with a freight forwarder within the Australian market
- Positive, Proactive Attitude
- Excellent communication & English language skills
- EDI & ICS Experience
- Confidence to deal with people on all levels with strong liaison skills
- Experienced in operations processing an understanding of terminology used and processes involved
- Ability to work both autonomously and a part of a team
- Excellent customer service, interpersonal, computer, data entry skills and high attention to detail
- Previous experience with Perishables advantageous
- Willingness to train and mentor others
