Qenos is now seeking an experienced Category Manager to join its established Procurement Team.  With a primary focus on the subcontracted services and related capex programs, this role will work closely with multiple stakeholders to deliver full end to end procurement and supply accountability across a wide range of technical trade services.           

This role will manage the subcontracted services category as the procurement expert and to lead the commercial element of the Qenos capital expenditure program.  This role will oversee the development and execution of procurement strategies and best practices across the subcontracted services category to generate best overall value for Qenos.

This role will be responsible for supporting operational and maintenance managers in the management of subcontractor compliance, performance and issue resolution, and promoting a partnership approach to subcontractor management.

Reporting directly to the Procurement Manager, your key responsibilities will include:

• To manage the strategic procurement of subcontracted trade services in accordance with shareholder expectations, company policies, business practices & procedures.
• Achieve best commercial outcome(s) for the business & stakeholders
• Ensure that the business capital expenditure program is optimised commercially
• Achieving target savings and value creation for the subcontracted services category
• Providing commercial expertise, supply market knowledge and innovation
• Using market intelligence to identify opportunities for commercial leverage and supplier engagement
• Developing and managing long term supplier relationships, negotiations and implementation of the most critical agreements

To be successful in this role you will need to have 5-10 years’ experience within a mature Procurement function and to be able to demonstrate:

• Demonstrable experience of subcontractor management, commercial management, category strategy development & execution and contact management
• The ability to rapidly build relationships with key stakeholders, working across organisational structures
• Experience in Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) concepts
• Successful commercial negotiations, with evidence of having applied innovative thinking, persuasive negotiating skills and strategic planning
• Experience in the strategic sourcing of commodities and strategic categories.

Tertiary qualifications and / or CIPSA certification is desirable and knowledge or exposure to SAP beneficial.  A background in Oil & Gas, FMCG, Automotive or Aviation industries will hold you high regard for this role.
