Position Overview

We are seeking  experienced HC licenced drivers to be based from our Truganina depot to undertake local and regional work. This is an exciting opportunity for highly motivated individuals who are required to display a commitment to Sargeant Transport and our compliance standards and values.

Specific duties include but are not limited to:

• Day to day operation of a Heavy Combination Vehicle

• Daily Prestart checks on vehicle and MHE equipment.

• Complying with the Sargeant Transport coupling & uncoupling trailers and tug test procedures.

• Completing con notes/run sheets and ensuring you collect all the critical documents.

• Adhering to the Driver Manual and customer safety goals in direct areas of responsibility and adhering to all relevant OH&S legislative, policy and procedural requirements.

• Recording load weight in accordance with HVM.

The successful candidate will possess:

• Minimum 2 years' experience (refrigeration experience highly desirable).

• Extensive experience with coupling and uncoupling trailers, setting up  Heavy Combination vehicle

• Good understanding of load restraint.

•  HC Licence.

• High customer service skills, good communication, written and interpersonal skills.

• Good knowledge of Chain of Responsibility and road transport legislation.

• Mature attitude with the ability to work independently.

Sargeant Transport will require all successful candidates to provide a 5 year Vic Road demerit point history, pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol testing.
