Our reputable and customer focussed client operates a full-service and flexible design to production plastics and rubber products manufacturing service. This business’ products are sold across a diverse range of industries and applications. The business has Asian operations which provides ancillary component procurement services opportunities. The brands are respected and have a solid and loyal customer base. This privately-owned company has been established since 1965.


This is an excellent career opportunity if would like to progress your product development and associated expertise in a technical and operational supervisory role. The position is an influential player in this small management team. The technical responsibilities are focussed on supporting product design and development, tooling, material selection and assembly. The manufacturing technology is plastics injection and rubber compression moulding. Production personnel and toolmaker who report to this role competently manage the day to day operations.


The role responsibilities include:

  • Contribute to project managing product design and development through to manufacture both in house and one site in Asia. 
  • Overview Australian production and assembly operations
  • Manage ancillary site operation - metrology lab, tool room, CAD and building management
  • Quality systems responsibilities
  • Building strong relationship with new and existing clients
  • Liaising with the Sales function in business development
  • Provide and report against an operational financial budget


You will have been involved component design and development possibly as a toolmaker, designer, quality or in manufacturing, ideally, in the plastics or rubber industry. Some manufacturing operations and quality systems expertise will be highly regarded.

 

You will require to:

  • Contribute in a management team setting
  • Apply your product development and project management expertise in an engineered component environment
  • General experience in the operational aspects of manufacturing
  • Manage a small production workforce of operators and tradespersons
  • Liaise with an Asian production and design facility
