What is the role all about?
The Procurement team sets the frameworks for the enterprise that govern suppliers to ensure they meet NAB’s requirements now and in the future, deliver innovative products and services, provide excellent value and protect NAB’s brand and reputation.
An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Consultant to join the Procurement Operations team and support the development of Procurement strategy and capability, maximise performance, lead process improvement and delivery of change and optimisation programs across the Procurement function.
The successful candidate will be an experienced professional with holistic business expertise and strong understanding of how all elements of procurement connect in order to effectively advise leaders and ensure NAB derives maximum value from commercial agreements.
Further responsibilities include:
- Co-ordinates process design, re-engineering and continuous improvement and ensures integrity of the Procurement Operating model
- Manages and chairs strategic sourcing discussions including weekly Sourcing Review Board(SRB)
- Manages monthly operating rhythm of Supply Chain Management Committee (SCMC)
- Collaborates with risk and governance stakeholders to ensure process compliance with regulatory and policy requirements
- Provides Program management and co-ordination for Procurement’s Optimisation Program
- Drives overall Procurement performance scorecard including productivity, process and risk deliverables
- Manages Procurement knowledge management, intranet and Procurement process library
- Provides support to leadership team including formulation of strategy and communications
- Provide professional and ethical behaviour in all actions by ensuring compliance with external legislation, bank standards and internal operating policies and procedures relevant to the position
- Ensure all personal training records are maintained
What skills, attributes and experience will you need?
- Strong corporate experience within procurement, governance, consulting, QA or project management
- Strong relationship building skills - ability to engage, negotiate with and influence senior leaders
- Resilience and confidence to address areas of improvement
- Able to operate in a team environment and share ideas and collaborate on challenges
- Track record in working with a wide range of Business units including Senior Management as necessary in complex and evolving organisations
- Ability to understand strategic, financial and business objectives
- Strong business acumen – covering procurement, governance, risk & regulatory practices
- Demonstrated background in project management and delivery
