Allied Pinnacle is the result of the merger of two companies, Allied Mills and Pinnacle Bakery & Integrated Ingredients. This merge was completed on 31 March 2017.
A permanent opportunity is now available for a Shift Miller, based at our inner suburban Kensington flour mill.
Job tasks and responsibilities
Key accountabilities include:
- Perform and monitor day to day milling operations, which includes tasks such as operating screen room equipment, making minor adjustments to machinery, basic testing, identifying product specification problems, blending ingredients, sampling product, record test results and cleaning of equipment
- Planning the production schedule with support from Production Supervisor/Manager ensuring consistent production at all times
- Formulating wheat blends and changing the flow of wheat in the mill
- Ensuring all production quality requirements are met
- Establishing maintenance priorities and participating in the implementation of the maintenance program
Skills and experience
The successful candidate will possess:
- Experience in food manufacturing environment- knowledge of milling or baking would be an advantage
- Mechanical aptitude with some knowledge of PLC run operations
- Be prepared to undertake shift work; 12 hour shifts – 2 day, 2 night then 4 off (8 week roster)
- A working knowledge of health & safety requirements and processes
- Experience in LEAN manufacturing an advantage
- Experience with food safety standards such as Coles, WQA, BRC & HACCP
