Responsibilities:

  • Taking action to maximise the contribution of own area to the Company’s profitability and growth by constantly looking for opportunities to improve business performance; managing business operations to maintain competitive advantage and making cost-benefit decisions
  • Manage the regional Purchasing group. Develop organisation and processes to meet the operational needs and contribute in organizational development initiatives to prepare the SCM organisation to support operation when moving into new markets, regions and areas and in day to day business.
  • Manage the organisations day-to-day purchasing activities, order management and departmental performance to ensure purchasing and its buyers are meeting performance standards.
  • Work with the SCM Manager to develop, implement, and manage a sourcing strategy for the regional operation.
  • Work with both local and Corporate Supply Chain and operations groups to identify and establish long-term strategic relationships, contracts and agreement with critical suppliers.
  • Track and report key functional and supplier metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.
  • Lead contract strategies, negotiations and supplier selection with intent to create a win-win situation for OII business units and regional suppliers.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to assess emerging opportunities and leverage technology innovations in the region.
  • Act as a backup to the SCM Manager when required.
  • Develop, implement and maintain processes to ensure an efficient and solid support to our operation.
  • Support the SCM Manager in daily operation and management of the SCM function to meet the operational demand and expectations and ensure compliance with processes, work instructions, rules and regulations.
  • Work with regional SCM Manager to identify, define and execute Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives and projects that will contribute to improved efficiency and service level to the business.
  • Act as a project manager for dedicated, agreed and defined Cost Of Poor Quality (COPQ) and CI projects.
  • Participate in planning and strategy work scopes related to Supply Chain Management in the region.
  • Contribute with service level discussions and reviews with operations teams.

Qualifications and Training Required:

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a similar or senior role within Supply Chain operations.
  • Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or related field preferred
  • Experience with ERP systems
  • Experience in effective inventory management or warehouse management practices preferable
  • Demonstrated communication, planning and time management skills
  • Focus on results delivery
  • Ability to establish and maintain productive customer and Client relationships
  • Ability to identify and understand issues, problems/challenges and opportunities
  • Proficient computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office suite)
  • Ensure that others involved in an activity or effort are kept informed about developments and plans.
