 About the Role...

 

This is a full time permanent role based in Albury NSW and will undertake planning and scheduling production in our industrial products departments. Reporting to the Plant Manager you will contribute directly to the achievement of strategic and operational targets by ensuring effectiveness and efficiency of workflow throughout the manufacturing and assembly processes. Resulting outcomes will be in support of targets and plans in regard to safety, people, cost, quality, delivery and performed at all times to meet the requirements of internal and external customers.

Key responsibilities include:

 

  • Management of production schedule with the Production Manager and Production Co-ordinators based on an agreed schedule; daily operational changes as well as production schedule changes in light of resource availability, including people and materials.
  • Management of work centre and routing configurations to maximise efficiency and transparency of operations.
  • Establish Standard Operating Procedures for the business, ensuring business acceptance and successful adoption.
  • Co-ordinate sales demand with the sales team on behalf of the Plant, co-ordinating internally as required.
  • Ensure the core ERP system reflecting demand, are complete, accurate and are maintained on a real time basis.
  • Assist management of subcontracted parties directly related to production and assembly processes.
  • Contribute to the cost effectiveness of subcontracted processes through efficiency of use and other appropriate initiatives.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement processes & initiatives contributing to operational targets and goals.
  • Contribute to product quality targets and goals.

 

About You... 

 

This role would suit a knowledgeable production scheduler with prior experience of a similar role in manufacturing environments. You will be an effective team player and a strong communicator with excellent spoken and written communication skills. You will be able to do root cause analysis to solve problems and overcome challenges enabling the business to meet its production, financial and non-financial objectives. You will have high honesty and integrity and a willingness to understand the business and its people. To be successful in this role you will need solid relationship and organisational skills.

 

Essential experience:

  • Business Degree/ Diploma in a related field and/or
  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience in a complex and dynamic planning scheduling role
  • Strong computer skills – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook & Pronto ERP

  • Technology literate, able to apply technology effectively to meet business needs
  • Motivated and enthusiastic with a ‘can-do’ attitude
  • Strong planning, organizational and follow up skills
  • Excellent people and process management skills
  • Ability to recognise and create a safe working environment
  • Experience with LEAN (Kanban System), 5S, spaghetti diagram, PDCA processes
